What would you like to know about me? I work full-time in the direct marketing industry, I'm married to an attorney and we have two great kids, a son and a daughter who are both teenagers. We live in a suburb just a 35-minute train ride away from what I think is the greatest city in the world, New York City. I buy all my fabrics, trims and notions in the garment district, and I like to share my favorite stores and my shopping experiences here.
Like many of you, I started sewing when I was a pre-teen, learning how to sew in Home Ec class at school. I sewed like crazy when I was young, making most of my clothes in my teens and twenties. Then came career, marriage and kids, and my time for sewing just disappeared. But about two years ago an urge to make a Chanel jacket overtook me, and suddenly my passion for sewing was renewed. Now I sew whenever I can to make up for all those lost years. When I'm not working, tending to family and home or sewing, I like to go into the city to visit museums, see plays, browse shops, or just walk around and soak up the energy that NYC radiates and makes me feel young(er). In the summer you can find me at the beach. (I hate the winters here, but spring, summer and fall are all pretty glorious seasons on the east coast.) I love going to good movies, and I buy way more books and magazines than I'll ever be able to read. And I'm addicted to chocolate. That's my English cocker spaniel Ralph with me in the photo above (he's another of my passions.)
Thanks for visiting my web site and I hope you keep coming back!
